Cookies

Gertie here. Cookies are tiny files your browser saves so websites can remember little things, like which page you were on or whether it's your first visit. Scout uses as few of them as possible. Here's the list.

What Scout uses

What Scout does not use

Third-party cookies

When you click through to a shop from Scout, you land on their website. They use their own cookies, which are outside of Scout's control. Every shop has its own policy.

If you sign up for a paid plan, the payment processor (which handles your card) uses cookies to complete checkout securely. That is their business, governed by their own policy.

Affiliate link cookies

Some outbound links from Scout to suppliers and featured artists are affiliate links. When you click one of these links, the destination supplier or its affiliate network (for example, Amazon Associates or a direct partner program) may set cookies on your browser to attribute the click. These cookies are set by the third-party site, not by Scout, and Scout does not have access to them.

If you buy something after clicking, Scout may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Scout does not see your order details, payment information, or anything else about your purchase. Read the privacy policy and terms for the full picture.

If you do not want affiliate cookies, you can clear cookies after clicking through, use a private/incognito window, or block third-party cookies in your browser settings.

How to turn cookies off

Every modern browser lets you block cookies in its settings. If you block them on Scout, most of the site will still work, but you won't be able to stay signed in or keep your saved projects between visits.
